IR35 reform is Budget’s biggest revenue-raiser

Following this year’s Budget, Contractor UK has reported on how private sector IR35 reform has emerged as the single biggest revenue-raiser of Budget 2018, making private sector companies (PSCs) the UK’s hardest-hit taxpayers of the Chancellor’s measures.

BKL consultant David Whiscombe comments: ‘By excluding SMEs from the new rules, the government says that “over 95% of businesses will not need to apply the reform.”

‘This is disingenuous. My experience is that the overwhelming majority of engagements are made by medium to large businesses anyway.’
